i’ve decided that 2023 will be the year of reminiscing and showing progress, so i’m going to be redrawing a piece of art for each year. since there’s only 12 months and i’m planning on doing 24 pieces, there will be at least 2 redraws a month, based on the number the year ends in.
for example, january will have a redraw from 2001 (this piece) and 2011. it’ll roughly follow that pattern through the whole year.
i remember being inspired by the victoria’s secret fashion show and digimon when i first drew this in 2001
I don’t really get why Riddle’s winning right now. I know he overblotted, but that was mostly a breakdown brought on by people not following the rules/questioning his authority, and that breakdown had an ENTIRE YEAR to fester before the story even started. I think Riddle would more likely be a victim, honestly, and if he were to kill in a Danganronpa-style killing game I think it’d be way later.
Meanwhile, Ace is impulsive, overestimates his own abilities and usually puts himself before others. He’d totally be the first of the Heartslaybul boys to crack, unless a motive convinced somebody else to kill first.

i can see the potential for violence in both riddle and ace (for the reasons you stated) but motive is important in the kills. first kill needs to be from someone unhinged enough and/or willing to believe the logic of the rules of the game.
in my head ace COULD be 1 of the ones willing to believe the “someone NEEDS t9 die or you all die” rule, but he’s also someone with his own (mostly strong) sense of justice. so if he believes preserving everyone’s lives PERIOD is more important, it’ll take more to crack his resolve. (i think deuce is similar to ace in this regard. in fact he’s dumber and seemingly more susceptible than ace to believe the lie but also has a stronger sense of justice and protecting others than ace to balance the stupidity out)
riddle i don’t think would be the first to crack in general. i think he’d more likely start delegating tasks to escape rather than sacrifice another captive.
hence my choice for cater (trey is a wildcard to me, but also not first killer type). he’s detached from others, and is only friendly on the surface. he plays by rules as long as he’s being watched or if those rules work in his favor (book 1: throwing ace out, never defending classmates from riddle’s rulings, following riddles rules whenever he’s around or likely to check if cater followed through. but when alone he tricks the first years into painting roses for him, and doesn’t even study the rules much, only hoping he doesn’t break any.)
cater has his own issues that he has yet to resolve, he focuses on self-preservation. if provided the rules of the game and opportunity he’d absolutely take someone else out the competition.
they made it so that there’s a (very small) limit of posts you can see daily- i didnt even notice it was happening until i was shut out from viewing anything. I dont know WHY they did it ( prob to get ppl to pay the monthly sub) but since Elon took over twitter its just one thing after another. Its useless to me now lol

Cater was fighting with Ortho in the Guest Room and after I separated them, he said “I’m not mad, I’m just having a chat” and, like… Yeah. I agree with this now
cater is his 13th reason away from snapping and ending someone. and i imagine he’d react to being caught like a combo of celestia and junko. just goes full on shrieking about his image and how he was supposed to be untouchable.
